And an 85 XLH, and enough parts to put together a 70 H, waiting for a crank assy to magically appear. Dunno about blessed, but lots to keep me busy....

Heard last week that this is going to be the last year @ Willow Springs.

Don't remember the date, but supposedly it is moved up for the event. I think it was on Scottie Deubler's podcast.

That's what I heard, will be the last one. Bunch of us planning on riding down from Washington (state that is). With a $100K purse this will be racing to see, all the heavy hitters will be there.

And not just the money at stake, but the end of a legend! Nobody is gonna want to miss that if they can avoid it.

Well, the Harley haters have been moaning about Honda's abandoning flat track for 30 years. Then this! Yup, American Honda Motorcycle Company is OFFICIALLY back in the game. Yes, it's only the 450 class, but it's a start. With the door open for more experimentation in the twins right now, we can only hope there might be an effort there in the not too distant future. That'd shake things up.

Some have speculated on the viability of a modified Africa Twin engine in a flat track frame...

I wonder when The Motor Company is going to have an answer to Indian dominating at the track?

That's the big question hammer.

I look for things to be a whole lot more competitive - brandwise. Honestly, I look for the Howerton Kawasaki with Smith onboard to be the first non-Indian winner, but who knows? Briar and Henry Wiles were the only non-Indian wins last year and they did it on Kaws, but Kawasaki (Bauman) Yamaha (Beach) and Harley (Halbert) were also on the podium at least once each. With more freedom to hot rod those bikes, who knows? It's certainly going to be more interesting though.

IF V&H has done anything to improve performance of the XG this could theoretically be the year. I think we can count on them doing something, whether it's enough will only be known on the track.

Last year at Willow Springs Jeffrey Carver came close to beating them all, Mees, Halbert, Smith et al, with Ron Woods Rotax. That guy can RIDE!
