It's like making a reservation at a restaurant. The Dealer has a certain number of Livewires coming in and you pay down on the model/color of your choice that is already on it's way.

^^^^^^ exactly.

Why don't you just say order then? Or is this something from the George W Bush dictionary!

Do they come with a chrome megaphone mounted to the handlebars? If not, the yuppies won't be happy with them. They can't make reved up lip noises loud enough to draw attention at the stop lights. So, if you wanted one, just wait a few months and the things will be back on the dealers floor.

the thing about an electric motor is it is tied to the magnetic coupling and is pretty much flat. so if a motor is rated at 100 hp, it will be pretty much that from 1 rpm to max rpm. while a fossil fueled engine only has a narrow band of power.
i dig the cng, and it was supposed to be a rage. amoco sorta was a driving factor in the beginning as was supposed to retrofit all their stations for it. the problem is where are they today, hummm, basically corporate greed was their demise. they even offered discounts to employees to convert. with efi, it is a win win, run the cng cyls dry and then turn on gasoline. i almost did it with my 88 one ton tow vehicle.
i run natural gas on all my stationary engines but reserved the right for gasoline so they can be portable.
I didn't buy the van because I wanted a CNG vehicle. It was extremely inexpensive (used), I get free fuel from work and it comes with an ALT fuel license plate that gets me in the HOV (high occupancy vehicle) lane in traffic. Otherwise, to me its just another car.
The van part is convenient though. Forgot what it was like to have a radio, heater, a/c ect.

See where Lightning is offering a 150mph, 150 range, water cooled for $13K. CNC frame components, Ohlins suspension.. did 218 mph at Bonneville. Might have to think about offloading a couple Sportys.
