I think you will be glad you decided to go with the 570.

I have the 536 and am very happy with it. It would be a waste having good heads with a "pedestrian" cam.

And I am only happy with my power for a short time, if there is more to be had.

Just my opinion

I'm considering the Hammer 570 which focuses the power in the low and midrange trading off some at the top end. That correlates to the way I ride.

A large factor in moving my decision away from the N4 was locating a shop local. They have a good reputation in my area and are close to me and that's also a plus.

I'll be dropping by there today to talk to the owner and see what he says but I think it should be a piece of cake for them.
Which shop did you choose?

Have you consulted hammer performance about running the jack hammer 570 cams? 10:1 cr. With those cams on a carbureted non map sensor? Has anyone done this and how did it work. Just seems dynamic compression may be cutting it a bit close on pump gas with voes.

Well I'm happy and relieved to say that I found are really top notch shop which now removes any inhibition going forward with a higher lift cam.

The shop is "White Knuckle Engines" located in Davie Fl. a quarter mile away from the Hard Rock Casino complex. I drove out to the shop and met the owner "Jamie" and spoke to him at length about all the checks and balances. Incredibly nice guy and a pleasure to speak to. Every bike up on lifts in his shop were big twins over 100ci and well over 100rwp. There were some seriously sick monsters sleeping on his lifts there awaiting more power upgrades.

So for me - it was like hitting the jackpot! The most reassuring part of the visit was that he just starting running down a laundry list of what his checks are and he hit every single nail on the head with regard to everything ever mentioned here by my fellow forum members.

I consulted Aron a few days ago and he recommended either the 560 or 570 for my build.

My Build:

BOUGHT
Bike is 2001 XL883C
04+ Big Fin 1250 kit with Flat top pistons
04+ XL 1200 Heads new built by Hammer

NEED TO BUY:
560/570 Cam
42mm Mikuni HRS Easy kit
Twin Tech Single fire coil
Twin Tech Ignition
Hammer billet manifold
S&S Roller Rockers
New Push Rods
Telescopic push rod tubes
Hammer 3" Air Cleaner & Filter
Pingel High Flow petcock
04+ oil pump & bronze gear
Supertrapp/Basani/Patriot 2 into 1

I will consult with him once again before I actually make the purchase for safeties sake.

Looks like its gonna be a place called White Knuckle Engines near the Hard Rock Guitar Casino here in Davie, Fl.
