I’d have to see your rulebook as to their wording. Does each spigot count as a point of attachment?

Yes, they count, so one in the middle and one at the rear make the three points. I could add 10 more if I thought it would help and I could find some place to do them.

Mind you, the large hose clamps have been fine so far.

One of the cool things about this bike is that no one will ever know what it is. I thorough explanation would overwhelm most people. You might get "Nice Harley. My uncle had one just like that." In high school, any motorcycle you ride in on will put you on top of the coolness mountain, let alone a fuel injected ironhead.

Jimmy Buffett came by today, gave me a little inspiration to work on the shit box special. Fins to the left.
Still have a bit of refining to do, it can wait until tomorrow to run the preheat sequence again. Nothing a little more filler rod and some paint can’t fix up.
All done with some donor cylinder fins and the tig.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Still needs some finishing. Most of the fins in the pics are still about 3/16” or so too long. Most of the exposed joints that are not filled will be ground smooth. Should look half decent when painted and finalized.

You got it Bruce. That’s the rod. Cleanliness and temp control pre and post is crucial with cast. Small toaster oven was used for preheat, and big fiberglass blanket helped out controlling the cool down.

(Hey Scott, just noticed Jr’s flat tracker photo bombed the pic of the rod. Behind the big XR front end lurks the little XR 100 based slider!)
