It’s funny, my ‘76CH that I bought in ‘85 had a nice, fully chromed, 33.4 front end with the hamburger drum brake.
The original owner got throttle shock and bent up the disc brake front end a few weeks after buying the bike new.
He eventually put it out for sale cheap and a pizza shop guy bought it.
That guy added the front end, an S&S Super B, a Morris Magneto, chromed the swing arm, oil tank, rear brake plate, rocker boxes and engine side cases. He also did a correct swap over to right side shift.
Then he had an 800 dollar paint job with gold leaf put on the tins.
He got it back together but before he even got things dialed in...his wife announced she was pregnant and one of my fellow Machinists at work asked me if I might want to go look at a nice Sportster.
I paid him $2500 as it looks here, went through it with a fine tooth comb and had it for 31 years.
