The Spirit of Class C is returning!

Now; if Yamaha and Kawasaki will also do something for the privateers on a par with what Harley's doing, the racing will only get better.

Harley is getting really serious about their Flat track effort. Brian Smith, Dalton Gauthier and Jarod Vanderkooi will be riding the XG750 Rs against the Indian FTR 750s. It's shaping up to be a very exciting year!

Martin, are you speaking to the motorcycles or Joe and myself in the background?

Hey Paul: no offence, but neither you nor Joe turn me on. Those bikes, on the other hand...

Quote: DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (January 10, 2020) – American Flat Track is pleased to announce its list of teams and riders for the inaugural year of AFT SuperTwins competition.

The most recent evolution in its revitalization of the sport of professional flat track, the AFT SuperTwins class represents a unity of the elite teams and most-skilled athletes who compete at every round of AFT competition.

At every event eighteen of the top riders in the sport will grid up for the AFT SuperTwins Main Event, allowing fans to closely follow their favorite athletes week after week.

This means we'll get to see the smallest fields for the main that I've ever seen. Since there are only 18 teams on the list, will they even have heat races? They can just grid everybody in the main according to their practice/qualifying times.

Then again, maybe it's a step toward making Production Twins the premier class. If smaller teams can't compete with the Factory Teams, they have no choice but to run in the Production Twins class. Harley has stepped up in a big way this year in providing bikes and prize money for Production Twins. That may help more privateers to get into racing twins based on street motors. While the Yamaha and Kawasaki twins are fast, if the MoFoCo is offering a competitive bike at a reasonable price, then maybe more dealers will be willing to throw their hats into the ring.

I've always been a fan of Class C racing. It looks to me like Super Twins is the modern day Class A and Production Twins is the modern day Class C.

We live in interesting times
