Default VA progress on chronic pain disability.

Since this ruling things are changing:

https://www.military.com/militaryadv...isability.html

Keep up with the situation (I use veterans forums like hadit.com) to see what develops. Any G.I. knows chronic pain can easily be disabling (and anyone else who doen't believe it needs a kick in the yarbles as a gentle reminder pain interferes with life) but of course it took lawyers and court case with the VA resisting change to make anything positive happen.

Us old pharts are usually better versed on the VA than active troops who never interacted with it so I remind the Active youngsters to document everything and keep hard copies of all their med records no matter how trivial they seem.

Looks like a nexus letter will be key for chronic pain claims (I've not filed yet as I've related surgery to finish and document) so if you've not learned how those work and supplied an example to your doctors (civilians don't know this stuff, make it easy for them) then I strongly suggest you do so.

It shouldn't have to be that way but I studied for my appeal like I was studying for a stripe and it worked so I'll do it again. Embrace the svck and become your own subject matter expert.
