Default Help (Oil Dripping)

Hey fellow xl forumers!

As my name suggest I have a 2006 sportster 1200C in yellow, anywho, i noticed the other day after a 50 mile ride, it was dripping dime sized amounts of oil.

The bike has 23,000 miles on it and it has never leaked a drop now it drops a few a day. IT LOOKS as if its coming from the seam split in the case (god i hope not) and collects on the cross member of the frame infront of the primary and also on the primary drain plug. It isn' from a loose main oil drain plug either.

Im thinking because it only seem apparent after the bike cools down after a ride that its a gasket? but i also see its the inner primary gasket/seal on some people bikes.

I know "its marking its territory" but seeing any fluid on ya garage floor is dis-concerning.

Any ideas what it could be? its definitely oil, not the vent for gas.

Thanks in advance help me fix my baby!!

Welcome to the forum family from a swamp in Michigan. Do a thorough cleaning then spray some "Soft-n-Dry" anti perspirent around the area,(Anthony tool), run the bike and it should become obvious where it origionates from.

I found the cause, oil drain hose was dry rotted and burst in two places. Amazingly it was only $7.11 at my local stealership.

There's a message there, if that hose dry rotted how's the rest of your oil lines doing?.
