Question Conversion Causing Valve Stem Seal Leak? Picts.

After conversion... might be an on going issue, or just bad valve stem seals, or I just ride the hell out of it at high RPM... red lines 6800. A hot rodded engine usually needs rebuilt. Has happened before.

Last Dyno was bout 85T 85HP. But carb could also be jetted wrong and running really rich?

Do ya'll think these pictures show that the valve stem seals are going bad?

After engine warmed up and hot... rear cylinder exhaust sounds different than front. Front has complete spark and ignites mixture(can hear explosion), while rear exhaust note sounds like is pinging, or carbon deposits are hot enough to pre ignite the air fuel, which gives a non explosive sound as the front exhaust gives.

When gets hot as above, the idle changes. Like coming up to a stop sign, then the idle is way higher, and engine sound changes, and others ask if I have enough oil etc.

If so, any suggestions on valve stem seals that will LAST? or maybe another issue?

Any and all feedback is appreciated! d

Please don't hesitate to ask more questions to help resolve and make sure from picts and symptoms. Engine just got taken apart and can add more picts of different components.

My engine sig is listed below. Bob woods prowler cams, and branch ported heads are prob main influence for wear and tear.

Intake Valve

Piston

Combustion Chamber

I'm running bob woods prowler cams with 0.590" lift, with aggressive lobes. I am not running roller rockers though and my pushrods are -0.050" length to match the max flow of my heads at highest intake valve lift. No need for higher lift if doesn't flow more CFM.

Thanks.

From the look of the intake valve thru the intake port, looks like oil is seeping thru and the valve stem seals are worn. So I removed spring and took off seal and removed valve.

Have no new seals to compare to used ones to show any differences. So not sure how badly worn they are.

Any suggestions on using brake cleaner or carb cleaner to soak head with to help remove all the build up?

Turned out to be plain jayne running WAY to rich, which caused carbon build up, and pinging or detonation from increased compression ratio... Plus heads were NOT decked -0.050" in which the SE -0.050" pushrods were too short and after up to full operating temp... Started lashing. Smh
