the 6'' extension adds to that appearance.your tubes are what 1-1/2 m.m. larger? not much difference.

Those early tubes are 33.4 mm. They used them on the big twin Supergilde too.

PO swapped mine with later 39mm forks, so more like 6mm difference which counts for a lot when it comes to diameter.

I want a 60's iron head, but it's not a priority.
Asking $2k OBO with clean title. Runs.
There's enough of the bike there that it would start shaping up once you took some of the junk off.
It's got me wanting to take a look.

if the early buddy seat was lonely here's a later one to keep it company.https://reading.craigslist.org/mpo/d...908833884.html I remember when mrmom9r referred to these as the ironing board seat.i can see a resemblance.

you're asking the wrong guy about comfort.many of those buddy seats got replaced with cobra seats in the 70's.i rode one for 40yrs.i now have an oem style plunger solo seat.there is some comfort there.

Back then comfort was never considered. What was considered was what looked |Cool".

That's how ape-hangers and 12 foot long front ends came about. It's why people are still willing to five up rear suspension.

The buddy seats were designed by accountants who never sat on a bike.
