I've always built my chains from industrial size 50 roller chain because it has been readily available to me, same size as 530 chain. I wouldn't know what to recommend for a specific brand.

i'm questioning the penetrating abilities of melted grease w/oil added.i'm picturing a thick mass?

i live around a farm area and at one time, you could get american combine chains but i do not see them now.
the combine chain is diff metal and although will rust, it will be surface only. they also see 100% power loading unlike a mc chain which tools around at maybe 20%.
like i say 3 in 200k and two rear sprockets and probably 4 counter but some of that was ratio changes.
the addition of oil to the grease is the key, use a gear oil.

the old european scool for ol' chains says to remove the chain
then thoroughly clean the chain
then soak it overnight in naphtha or even oil
then clean with a rag and mount

nowadays o ring chains need little lubrification and often the wrong product can damage the o rings, so careful to use only specifics products for o ring chains

I shut oiler off as it was making a real mess. Every winter, I remove the chain, clean it and let it soak in oil.
