Watching some videos on rocker box removal/replacement while I wait for my parts to arrive. One guy I like, Two Wheel Rocco, is an old school bike wrench. He uses a little Permatex Ultra Black RTV on the lower corners of both heads (when the bike is on the stand). He says that's where they usually leak, and in his experience a thin layer of Ultra in that spot with the new gaskets insures it will not leak.
What sez you?

If you have that issue then it’s worth a try.

I don't have that issue, I have no leaks. I'm just going to pull the covers to put in rocker lockers, and new gaskets.

What'd I tell you about YouTube videos?
Don't use RTV anywhere on your motorcycle.
Two Wheel Rocco is not gonna pay for your rebuild if that junk gets in the oil path.
And the weakest joint is the four rocker cover bolt (gaskets) on rigids.
The only reason there'd be a leak under the box at the head is a warped lower box.
Or head studs pulling out.

Sometimes you gotta shake the nest to get some response.
Rocco is cool by me, I like his stuff. And there is a lot of good stuff on you youtube. Just like here it ain't all good, and it ain't all bad.
I misrepresented a bit when I said heads. He uses it on the cover and spacer I think.
But your strong response is what I was looking for.

Nah, don't do that either.
I've had a strong response on this freakin tube all day.
Trying to get the right amount of water to run downhill isn't as easy as it seems sometimes.
