I gave you the bolt info eariler.....5/16-18....that is the tap the shop will need and they'll know what drill size to use for the tap. As far as tap depth....I would just have them replicate the depth on the drilled side.

Since you are in Spain I'd double check the size of the bolts with a local version of the Harley Parts manual. Its unlikely they are different, but if would suck to find out after the hub was drilled that HD substituted different bolts in some countries.

There have been a few threads here over the years of this being done. I wouldn't have any problems doing it.

I just realized I made a thread a while back about it here that has a few pics. When I get off work though, I can take some close up shots if need be.

I've just realized that the axels are different (25mm Nightster ones and 2007 883R: 1" rear and 3/4" front) and require more things to be changed and adapted: rotors, etc.... so I am aborting the rims swap, a bit of a nightmare... a pity cause I love Nightster rims... but I think I'd be a lot better out getting some '07 1200R rims and may be painting the rims ring.

I appreciate all your help

I respect the wish for dual front discs...however, have you considered just doing the brembo conversion which a few people on this forum have done already. I believe they took it off the v-rod and ive heard great things about the end results

WAIT WAIT WAIT - if they are both off a 2007 I THINK the axles are the same.

I thought they didn't change to 25mm front axles until 2008.

Double-check before you abandon all hope.

Kev, I think in another thread the OP has he mentions the nightster wheels are from an 08' to go on his 07' R.

Still can be done...just not as straight-forward of a job as it requires bearing and probably spacer changes.
