Do you recommend emptying the tank? Curious how many people do that. And I wonder how they manage to do it safely with things commonly found around the house/garage.
When I moved from Georgia to Texas I had a 2007 Yamaha YZF-R6 that was being transported by the moving company that was also moving my stuff so I had to empty the fuel tank... I rode out what I could and the remaining I took out with a fuel pumping device from the local auto store that worked fairly well (I did have to have one of the moving guys help me hold the plastic hose lines so it would keep transfering the fuel) so that could be helpful to those who feel more comfortable with having no or little fuel in the tank.

Also thank you very much Screw Loose Dan, I have a Iron and been wanting to upgrade to the 4.3 gallon tank but was affraid that swapping the fuel tank was going to involve special tools or more work but now after your video I don't have no reservations from making the change

Wanted to say thanks for the video. I did the tach kit upgrade today and had to get under the tank to get at the harness, first time I moved the tank.

Your video was a big help

Dan you said that 3.3 gall tank full only weighs approx 25lb. If gas weighs 7lb per gall that makes an empty tank about 4 lb?? Only reason for raising this is coz I am planning to ship an empty 48 tank 2.1 gall and wondering how much it weighs empty.
Cheers

Alot more work than the carb bikes, but worth the time. I wasn't real sure how when I put my monkey bars and cables on and just balanced it on its side. Too lazy to read a manual, but I would have watched this. Thanks, good job. I'm getting ready to replace the rocker box gasket so definatley will help.

Very interesting, as i was wondering how to take the tank of my bike. My brother done this a few times to his sportster 2006 (carb.) but mine is a bit different!

So thank for the video's!

Question. You mentioned that there are 3 fuses and to pull out the middle one. The right fuse is missing on mine. Should there be a fuse there? Also what is that fuse for? Thanks.

That top right one is a spare. Doesn't need to be one there.
