Hey you 48 and 72 owners, how far can you go on the 2.1 gal tank before you have to fill up?

My low fuel light usually goes on at around 60 miles on my 72. The farthest I went on a single tank was about 80 miles since I'm not willing to chance running out of gas. I usually have at least .5 gallons left in the tank when I fill up.

Folkie, I do not post much, I do not have a 48 or 72. But i have a 1993 Hugger with a 1200 Buell engine. The 2.2 tank cruising on the highwAy gets 95 miles before hitting reserve. Believe it or not with the Buell engine i get 35 MPG driving it hard around town.

So with a hi HP Buell,95 miles on a 2.2 works for me. when the fuel runs out and i have reach down to turn on reserve IT IS TIME to find the nearest station. After 95 miles i need to get ass off the seat anyway.

The only time the 2.2 tank does not work for me is in the wstern US. Going to the coast is cool, it is only 50 miles.
Going from salt lake city to the Bonnivelle salt flats is way cool.

I vote 70-74 miles, but that is only after the light comes on. Got 25+ miles after that, but don't like it.

Hi techron

My reason for mentioniong 48s and 72s is that the EFI tanks have space taken up by the pump, so less capacity. It's all useful input though. I'll bet that Buell engined Hugger is a blast.
