Default Purchasing a 2016 XL 1200C soon

After a few years and a few different scoots I'm heading back to get a 2016 1200 custom.
I've previously had a 1996 1200 and a 2008 1200C, last time on a sporty was about 6 years ago.
The 2016 I'm looking at has only 1400 mi and is very clean.
Are there any potential issues to be aware of or to look for before closing the deal?

Thanks

KG

That new of a bike all should be good. The only thing I worry about with low mileage used bikes would be leaks from seals that have spent most of their time sitting shrinking and getting hard. But a 2 year old bike shouldn't have any issues. May even still have factory warranty. Just enjoy it. All should be good. I would bring up getting the brakes flushed if your buying from a dealer. It's do for that at 2 years. If it hasn't already been done.

I would think it is a lot like your 08 was. If you were happy with that bike you should like this one.

Sounds like you have been around bikes a while. It's just like anything you buy, look it over good, check out the general adjustments, smell the oil, dip a stick or something in the oil bag and look at the color. You will be able to see if the guy took care of it or not. It's near new, with low mileage, so even a clown owner couldn't have messed it up too bad.

Not really the sportster is about the most bulletproof bike H-D makes IMHO. I always have a sporty even though I have BT’s it’s just a lot more convenient to hop on it when screwing off. Just keep up with the normal crap oils, battery, tires and you should be good to go.

I've only bought one Sportster used, my current one. It had the extended warranty intact which came in handy. Due it's low miles sitting for years in a garage, the rocker box cover gaskets started leaking. The warranty covered it. Zero issues after that.

So you might consider extending the warranty if it's fairly cheap. Otherwise don't worry about it.

Replace the air cleaner with one using a separate breather so your bike isn't inhaling it's own crankcase fumes.

After a short delay I finally got the deal finished.
reunited with Sportster after being away for several years. The 16 certainly rides and handles better than the previous 2008.
Now waiting for the weather to clear up so I can ride.

Congrats!
Before contemplating any wiring mods, understand that 2014 up is a CANBus system.
