Default What's the difference between 2010, 2013 & 2016 XL883L

Hi all,

Bought my first Sportster ever. Owned Harley's since 1981. I still have my 81 Low Rider I bought new. I bought and rebuilt a 2007 Road King which is my main driver and I had a bunch of SX250's & SX125's back in the day for dirt bikes.

I have just purchased a 2013 XL883L & I found two used factory service manuals for 2010 & 2016. Between the 2010 & 2016 models, which is the closest to the 2013? Or, which manual should I buy? I might just buy both for $30, but I have a feeling there isn't much difference between them so I really just want one that is the closest.

The 10 is essentially the same as the 13.

I wrote the www.cyclepedia.com EFI Sportster repair manual that covers 07-16.

The 07-09 are essentially the same (with a few differences)

The 10-13 are essentially the same.

The 14-15 are essentially the same.

The 16 is like the 14-15 with better suspension.

Thank You! Your the best!

The repair manual is probably the best specia-tool Harley offers. What is sad is, they are rarely consulted. They can save a lot of heartburn if you look at the manual first before turning the the wrench. The bike changes are more like minor refinements that why I asked the question.
