1970 sportster overload
I need to know the stock mounting location of the overload breaker on the 1970 Sportster. The factory breaker has 2 wires and a 2 hole bracket attached.
Any help will be appreciated.

The coil is mounted under the seat. The part#74589-67a.The 2 mounting holes are 3/16 and 1 1/2 inches on center.Bracket overall length is 2 inches and 3/8 inches wide. This style was factory installed from 67 to 72. Any thoughts?

How 'bout the underside of the battery carrier ? Here's a pic from my '71 xlch. I imagine a '70 xlch is similar.
If this doesn't align with the parts you have in hand, then you'll need a '70 owner/expert to weigh in.

Pretty close for a '71 xlch
I can't attest to the location of the circuit breaker for a '70 XLH though. The XLH battery carrier/box is different (from an XLCH). You really should have a '70 XLH knowledgeable guy confirm the location...... before you proceed too far.

That purple bike is rather gorgeous. I suppose the paint is called “Plum Crazy” or some such 1970s name?

On my 67 XLH the circuit breaker is attached to the back side of the battery box with two small screws between the box and frame rail. Hopefully this makes sense
