i hate when people talk about this study or that study but do NOT give their sources.
and even then you have to consider who is doing the study, who is funding it, the reasons for the study, along with a bunch of other considerations.

then you have to filter what the study actually concludes to what people/media say a study concludes. which often doesn't align much at all.
also studies can be wrong, this study shows that nearly half of all medical studies reported on by media are wrong and subsequent studies prove that the initial study was wrong and the media that reports the initial study doesn't correct this after the study is shown to be invalid.
here is a quote from their conclusion.

"Our study shows that many biomedical findings reported by newspapers are disconfirmed by subsequent studies. This is partly due to the fact that newspapers preferentially cover "positive" initial studies rather than subsequent observations, in particular those reporting null findings. Our study also suggests that most journalists from the general press do not know or prefer not to deal with the high degree of uncertainty inherent in early biomedical studies. Importantly, such biased newspaper coverage can have important social consequences [32, 33]."
and here is the study itself .............
http://journals.plos.org/plosone/art...l.pone.0172650

or course none of what they talk about in this study mentions bias on the researchers side or bias of whom is paying the researchers to do the studies.
Well, you outlined the “studies” problem well. Of course, it is the pro-weed side doing most of the propaganda pushing for decades now.

Also, turning to constitutional references for support is pretty childish, I suppose you have no problem with drivers licensing, social security, or a host of other unconstitutional ideas. Let alone all the other drugs that need to be legalized as a result.

Like I said, even most more “serious” drugs have medicinal uses. You want it legal, I got no problem. I just get tired of all the people trying to blow smoke up our asses about how pot is now a wonder drug, safe to feed your kids with breakfast, good to drive while using, etc....contrary to known facts.

The idea that it has not been implicated regularly in causes of death is a red herring. If a person drowns, dihydrogen oxide is not implicated. Plenty of people have had their hearts explode from crack usage, cause of death...heart failure.

Wow.. I hate to respond to this thread because, you know, people are gonna believe what they want and find something to back it up. The first time I heard the term, Marijuana is the Gateway Drug, was from a recovering Meth addict..but, you know, someone else will say it sounds more like what his counselor would say... and on and on. My opinion is to just decriminalize it, and call it good.

so start posting these 'facts', where are your sources??? i'd love to see them. that was my initial reply. start posting sources for claims instead of just making them. and i'd say that for BOTH sides of the argument.

My most sincere apologies, and thank you for correcting me on that. A most egregious mistake on my part.
