How about:
"How many sets of tires have you worn out on your IH"
..."seats"
..."bottoms of kickstands (I kick mine on the stand, yes I do)
..."handgrip sets"
..."kicker pedals"
..."top ends"
..."2nd gears"
..."drive side shock upper eyelets"
after 25+ years of true daily rider, certain parts seem to take precedence to keep around over candy paint and flaming skulls

Man, this is an old thread! Started in 2006. Bought my first Sportster, a 1961 XLH in 1969 and still have it, which means next year in June will be my 50th (didn't realize that until a minute ago). Now I have a few more. In fact, they don't all fit in the house and the shop. Turns out a friend of mine believes she has a magic garage. Every time she takes a look there's another motorcycle.

I've now owned this one for 28 years (and counting).

If it ain't broke, don't fix it (especially if you don't know what you're doing). Most Sportster problems are owner-induced.

Great pic!
Thanks to 83XLX for all his advice to me as a new owner.
