Im the original cheap stake. One thing I despise about new bikes, you cant chop them, or make stuff fit any more, without costing you 10 grand or more.
I have an SE stage 1 FLH air cleaner on my 08 Sporty, Ive had two HD stealers tell me it would not fit. I made it fit. I like big air.
When I bought those pipes I was the first person in my state, and the third person on the left coast to own them.
Since then, they doubled the price. I would not buy them at todays price.
When I get rid of my 08 Sporty, I will replace it with a 40-50 year old machine.

I've been thinking, maybe, I looked for the wrong bike,
.. bought the newest... low mileage Sportster I could find around (2nd hand).
Perhaps I should've been looking for the latest carbed ? ,
Old design build today, just before emissions targets went crazy ?

I got lucky with my 1991. First year of five speed, improved alternator design, one of the last chain drives, simple (circuit breaker) electrics, cable drive speedo, no "super sized" rubber mount frame/engine, no hokey plastic side covers, carbureted, and the classic peanut tank. If I was looking to buy one today, I'd want the same features.
