well, the c/c does have a drain plug under it, an allen head and it is locked from the moco so a little heat on the plug to loosen up the lock-tite. cracking the oil pump loose a tad or cam case but that would require a gasket and it is a mess. keep rpm low if you do crank it, maybe a one lung operation. a tad bit of oil in the tank to stop prime loss and remove some when tank reaches about 1/2 way. it will probably smoke from the pistons not being able to control oil.

Well, I ran it again for about 30 secs and still no oil showing. So I added about a half qt , hoping to prime it. Ran it again and oil started rising in the tank until it was at normal. Thanks to bustert for confirming the priming thing.
Thanks to all who pitched in, especially davo who came all the way from Oz to help.

By the way, thanks guys.
Yes, 20 seconds won't do shit. The oil pump is pretty small. The oil is down in the engine. Your pump has a feed gerotor and a return gerotor. Priming the feed side won't do a thing to help return oil to the tank. The oil in the return side should have no problem getting pumped back to the tank.
