Finally installing jugs and heads

I don't see, in the FSM, that you install each head when its valves would be shut. Which makes sense to me.

So I guess it doesn't matter where pistons are, you just bolt them on?

I broke off the nut on the left end of the mainshaft, in Sept.

So, had to replace mainshaft = disassembly of engine......

The cases are back together Now I'm putting jugs and heads on.

Going OK so far. But it's been slow though.

The crank/piston position makes no difference when installing the heads, that's correct.

However, it matters very much when installing the rocker boxes.

I know it's not our kit (at least I don't think so?), but common mistake #6 in our kit installation instructions applies anyway: http://www.hammerperf.com/ttinstallkit.shtml#mistake6

Who said it was wrong?

Although I could go down that path if you're interested ... but I was just pointing out that it gives no advantage, the motor is still going to need to get positioned correctly.
