Default 2011 Nightster compatibility list

I bought a 2011 Nightster recently and I was wondering if there was a list of campatibility years for 3.2 gallon tanks as I might get a spare one to paint.

Also if the 2.1 gallon peanut tank from a 48 would fit, as there is a spare handy for that as another option. Loving the bike! Thanks.

Here the Sportsterpedia page on Fuel Tanks:
http://sportsterpedia.com/doku.php/techtalk:evo:body02

I believe all 2007-later tanks (EFI) have the same mounting fit for all models
(seats may need matching to tank size)

61000701 - 3.3gal Tank - Primed
61000702 - 2.1gal Tank - Primed
61000703 - 4.5gal Tank - Primed

BUT.... make sure the seat fits. ie my 09 883 Low with a peanut tank had fitment issues with the seat when I swapped it out for the larger 883 Custom tank. Its actually a little bit longer so double check the overall tank length - not just the bolt hole to bolt hole brackets.

Adding the longer gas tank isn’t a big problem, you can return the front of your seat to gain clearance.
