Makes me miss my '66 C1000. I had a cracked head and no resource to find one local, so I sold it to be my S2. I still miss that truck. 305E V6, SM420 Muncie 4 speed, Dana 44 with 3.73 gears, all original except the Chevy tailgate and wheels. original bedwood, super-rare optional leather buddy bucket seats, original Chrome, dealer option fire extinguisher on the passenger kick panel, even the original Briggs and Stratton-made key. I also had the original invoice, RPO, owner's manual, and service sheets from '66-'68 from Winkel Motors.

Looks almost like my RGU. I have lowered the front and back of mine since I only have a 32" inseam. Rides like a dream.

Well I guess I'll update this thread, about a year late. I sold the F150 to my brother in law and bought this 99 Expedition because I needed something with more power to tow Mrs Gravydogs new toy.
As per Ohio winter beater rules, it has almost 200,000 miles and plenty of rust, but it runs great and tows like a beast.
The guy I bought it from works at Summit racing equipment and must have watched the bargain bin for any thing that would fit, it's got headers, cold air intake, an Sct tuner, Msd coils and a bunch of other stuff.
Here's a pic of the truck, and Mrs Gravydogs new toy.

I've got a 2001 Honda Civic, 2 door. Rear seats come out in 3 minutes without tools & I got one of them 40"x48" Harbor Freight trailers. Any time I have to go out & can't ride because of the weather, or I need to haul something I can't carry on the bike, this 250k+ miler is my beater. I've had it for 3 years. Don't know where it came from originally. It sure hasn't been in Ohio for 16 years, cause it's not that rusty.

It's actually a bit of a hoot - just under 200 hp turbo, AWD, but with the creature comforts (heated leather, SAT/NAV, premium sound etc.):

Ha ha in the interest of late thread updates, about a month and a half after that quoted post my JKU came in and it's been my "winter beater" ever since. Only about 18k miles on it now and still love it.
And my eldest is enjoying the Juke.

Since last year, I've been bouncing around in this baby, 22,000 trouble free miles since then. No A/C, driver's side mirror flops like a flag in the wind, and the gas gauge doesn't work but everything else is solid as a rock. Its rough but I love it. I like to buy a beater whenever I have a long commute to a jobsite so I am not burning up miles on my nicer vehicles just to get to work. Considering this project is just about wrapped up, this old DSM 4x4 truck is about to hit craigslist and we'll see what comes up for my next project.

I sold that one to my nephew, who proceeded to beat it senseless until the rusty old frame broke, it had around 260000 miles when he drove it to the junkyard.
