it would really be simple with a waukesha type valve bridge.
Good for low RPM Diesel engines, many of them are set up like that. Not so good for a higher RPM engine and it adds height to the valve train.

A rocker arm with two levers is the popular solution, as has the Milwaukee Eight.

And yes, the four valve pent-roof chamber head is superior to a two valve head. M8 has that as well.

Comparing a Suzuki 800cc w/4 valves per cyl. @ 50HP and a Sportster 883cc w/2 valves per cyl. @ 48HP, putting larger valves in would only work to a point where as going with 4 valves per cyl. would definitely increase airflow. (IMO..Also improves emissions)

There's that naughty e word again. The more it xxxxed up the diesel world the more determined I was to bellow as much black smoke as I could. Gained a shit ton of hp in the process with nothing but tweaking the ECM by writing fuel into the file and big ass straight pipes.
Went from 575 to 650+ with my 6nz. Still the most sought after motor today in big trucks and the last year it was made was 03. It's put in glider kits. Brand new trucks minus the drivetrain.
Cat quit making motors altogether for trucks I think in 08. Emissions killed them. Buried them in warranty work. They won't stop til they kill these too.

They're trying to outlaw gliders.

I was just referring to the fact that a more efficient an engine runs, the better the performance. Too bad some of the emission controls hinder performance rather than boost it.

No doubt 4 valve heads and the cam/lifter setup to run them would be a major boost. You can see the difference if you look at Speedway bikes when they went from two valve to four. You can make a two valve hang with the four valve bikes in the beginners class, but with pro's on both bikes, the four valve will walk away from the two.

just showing multiple valving, nothing new been around for eons of time.
latest trend is smaller displacement, force induction and direct injection. big boost in performance and mileage. engine mass has been reduced tremendously.
