No Bruce. The inventory belongs to my (riding)brother in Florida. I hounded him for a couple of years before he finally sold the '69 to me 2 years ago. The crazy mofo has lots of old Harleys, favorites being 60s mag Sportsters, and great tales from the old days.

One of the better ones is about riding a chopped Knuckle to New Orleans in the summer of '65. As he got closer to town he said he was pleasantly surprised to see he had the southbound lanes all to himself. And he did notice the northbound was bumper to bumper at crawling speed. He's thinking, "I timed this run just right."

The wind picks up...way up! The rain starts, a driving sideways rain. He said for a (short) while he's riding at a 45 degree angle to stay up against the weather. He told me all the crap he had roped (he says there were no bungee cords back then, used rope) to the sissy bar blew off.

Wasn't long before riding became impossible. There was a car sitting along the road so he dropped the bike next to it, climbed in the car and rode out Hurricane Betsy. When it passed he got on the Knuckle and continued the journey.

As appreciation for selling me the '69 for next to nothing I'm getting the long dormant heard of 60s Sportsters up and running. I just finished the black '66 XLH (mag bike) and I'm working on the '68 XLCH. Next up is a piece together starting with a '65 motor, short frame and whatever else we can find in the mess.

I met Electric Frank in the 90s when I lived in South Florida. Cool old cat. He rode a custom mag powered 45 Flathead. He passed away in 2004. His voltage regulators are bulletproof.

Yourr about that. I have a Frank's on my 70CH. Still works great nearly 50 years later.
