Default Hand Controls

I want to change the original hand controls to new chrome controls. 2 issues:

1 - the brake switch threaded insert is too small. What size thread is it and I'll retap it.

2 - The horn and left turn buttons seem to be mysteriously attached to the case. I can't pull them out. How do I get them out?

Thanks.

welcome to the forum p.d.jr. the thread pitch for the stop light switch is 1/4-32 NS. re #2, are you referring to removing the buttons or the switches? the buttons just pull straight off, and the switches should be held from the back with a retainer fastened with a small screw.

Control switches are the "junkiest" thing on a Harley.

The stop switch is too small and delicate, putting the little buttons back on afterwards is a real pain. There isn't enough room for all the wiring. Everything is too delicate and cramped and just junk.
