I most certainly don’t mind eves droppers. Not much talk on here about IR motors. I’m pretty thick skinned and am open to all comments from anyone. Comments lead to discussion, leading to thought processes, leading to testing, leading to progress. Sometimes.
Just keep in mind this is just an f-around undertaking for me and Jr to spend some time in the home garage and keeping him off the video games.

Very interesting project Mike. You are attempting one of the harder things there is to do with an I.R. system.

Just a simple street engine with good manners isn't a simple thing to do. It's much easier to make max HP in a narrow range. If you had carbs I'd tell you to forget it, but EFI gives you the best shot at making it work with IR.

Intake velocity is still important despite the fact that it's dry flow.
Aiming the injectors is critical , I think it would take an angled nozzle to hit the back of the head of the intake valve ( your target).

I’ll have to update with a few newer pics as to where I’m at currently. I have since made the inj holders and welded them to the manifolds. I did attempt to aim them at the back of the intake valve like you mentioned, as well as close to head as much as possible. I will have control of both Inj independently as well as 720 deg of ign timing independently as well.

For anyone with dual throat EFI curiosity this Mikuni unit is interesting. And Cheap.

There must not be a big market for used Bolt parts because this throttle body, fuel rail, injectors, TPS , IAC motor and manifold were purchased on ebay for less than $50 with free shipping.

So it's an affordable project to play with. I think it's a real possibility to use it with an S&S manifold, mini plenum / adaptor, 883 injectors, adapt HD TPS and run it with an HD controller.

Also a complete rear Cylinder head with the works : mustard ,ketchup, valves, springs,
cams, rockers , cam sprocket , was bought for $50 .

It ain't a Harley but it's cheap fun.

At those prices I can butcher a lot of parts .

The manifold pictures sort of remind me of the S&S twothroat carb manifold? That didn't turn out well in the end, but was about the first attempt to mass market the I R concept?

For anyone who has the question , The dual 35mm throats on a common intake for an HD provide the equivalent area of a 1 15/16" single butterfly . So half way between a Super E and a Super G.

Is it too big? Not with EFI since fuel atomization is no longer dependent on intake air velocity at low engine speeds.

So are you supplying each cyl with 1/2 of a Super e? Or does the two runners combine to one manifold?

The single carb on an HD feeds one cyl. at at time. It is the correct size for one of the cyl.'s.

I am not proposing using this for an HD IR. By using an adaptor / plenum to mount it to the common HD manifold the engine will see it as a single air source .

The Evo XL throttle body is 1.75 " just like the Buell XB stuff.

The HD TPS and IAC can be used with simple adaptors. MAP sensor is in the HD manifold as are the HD injectors.

The whole project that started with me looking at boring these throttle bodies has stopped. I finally received an email back from Mikuni and they have a 40mm version of this body so that solves that Bolt problem.

Do you see any benifit to using that dual TB setup with common manifold when used in a progressive scenario? Part throttle on one butterfly then progressively open the second?
