Thanks! I Still need to find that harness for the turn signal wires, don’t see the skinny adapter (in album on #9) fitting into the wider harness that’s stock on the Sportster. Can’t find one anywhere.

Not sure what you mean, but turns plug into the stock taillight assembly.

I’m experiencing difficulty finding what I need to connect the turn signal wires to the assembly, there’s no plastic housing like the one pictured in the album. I have an open housing for turn signals, and 2 bare turn signal wires without a way to connect.
The thin adapters pictured here don’t fit into the wide housing in the same photo.

If you want to keep wiring as stock as possible, then research connectors or purchase them from H-D.

Or you can simply splice them:
You can twist, solder and shrink tube or even use butt splices.

Have you figured out color to color?

HD said they only sell the connectors with entire light kits, so I’ll follow your advice, thanks!
As you said, seems like the 2 yellows are L/R turn signal, just gotta figure out where to connect them

Factory wire colors are in post 7.

No schematic with the new unit?
If not, do you have a link to it?

A VOM or even a simple continuity light should help you test, as needed.

Oh, yes! I just copied your notes on the wire colors from #7, so I’ll connect to the brown and violet wires
The new unit is an eBay third party combo light without schematics, but I found a similar one online with a matching diagram
Black- ground
Red- brake
Green- running
Yellowx2 left and right turn output

Should I
1) replace the wires from the current connection (pictured) with the new matching wires, and only splice the two turn signal wires to the now empty housing
or 2) splice all new wires to the open housing?

Good
You may want to verify before connecting fully
