Default And then there is...

...this from cyrilhuzeblog.com:

Quote:
I don’t publish rumors, but will (almost) always publish leaked information. Problem is that when this leak seems to come from Harley-Davidson headquarters it’s evidently impossible to get anyone to confirm in writing my information. But pictures just began to circulate on the web…During its February Winter Dealers Meeting, Harley-Davidson would announce 2 new 2012 models (instead of one usually unveiled at this time of the year.)
The first one would be called the Sportster Seventy Two - either a 883 or 1200 cc – It would take inspiration from the 70′s choppers with mild ape hangers, forward controls, lots of chrome and metallic paint. The second model would be a new Softail called Softail Slim, a “true” Bobber based on the Fat Boy platform. flat black paint, old school details all over, wheels with black painted spokes, cat-eye style gas tank dash, half-moon floorboards, hollywood style handlebars. Both models would be officially announced beginning of 2nd week of February. To follow…

The poor mans mexican cholo this will be an 883 to put the final nail in the coffin. How many 883's have ever come with forwards?

Someone photoshop a pair of these on I cant be asked.

I must have got my dates wrong on the ABS.

Looks like profile laced wheels, so at least maybe the tubes are gone. Also the tires look lower profile like the superlow.

Anyone have a pic of the fatboy slim?

The 72 looks nice, but uncomfortable and nothing new, just a styling exercise. Such things work out well for HD while something like the XR is not as successful (in terms of sales). Go figure.

I'm guessing it will be a 883to fill the role of the former 883c. Priced higher than Iron less than nightster. It will be the smaller, less expensive alternative to the 1200c and 48. My guess.

What's 883 have to do with fwd controls, they've (Harley) been putting them on 883's since the inception of the "custom model"

Just trying to figure where they will position this bike, Guess I looked at all the other model apart from C. The low, The superlow, The Iron, but The 1200 C has them the 48 has them. Seems to verify the 72 being an 883 to me. Just interested thats all.

Round air cleaner; that'll be a nice change.

I'll bet you a £1 (or something from the 2012 P&A catalogue that's a quid)
