Default HELP! Cometic Gasket Oil Leak

I just replaced the gaskets on my 07 XL1200R. The rear base gasket was starting to leak, so I decided to replace with Cometic Gaskets.

After putting it all back together, I noticed I have 4 small o-rings left over. I can't remember for the life of me where they're supposed to go. I started the bike up, it runs just fine, but leaking oil out of the right side. Can't tell if it's coming from the base or head gaskets.

Can anyone tell me where these o-rings go?? BTW, they're not the ones that go at the top or bottom of the pushrod covers, there a little smaller than that. Also, I have the service manual, must have missed something though.

Those are for the dowels in the head gasket area...You don't use them with the cometic kit....Did you torque the heads down to the specs in the manual or the specs that came with the gaskets?

Is it weird that those o-rings come with the cometic kit? If they're not needed?

I installed this kit on my bike about 15k miles ago. Didn't like the upper rocker box seal, fiddly and bad fit, so bought an OEM one that was much better fitting and hasn't leaked since.

I just re-used the original, I didn't like the Cometic pieces either.

That's exactly what my gaskets looked like. I'm not sure why they included the extra o-rings. They look like they would go on the alignment dowels, but again, no o-rings over the dowels on the cometic kit. I'm planning on ordering a new kit, and trying again. Not sure what else to do at this point. Anyone know the best place to by the cometic kit?

this is frustrating, because I helped a buddy install a 1250 kit on his sportster a month ago, and I put it together perfectly, runs great! Now sure how I messed this one up.

Also, the gasket to the left of the base basket (in the pic), I had that one left over. I'm assuming it's for a different intake? where does that one go?
