Default HTML page building

Of all of the forums I participate in, this site is the worst in lag time for the page to build.

A single click results in what seems like 15 requests from the servers.
It takes so long for these requests to complete I can find what I am looking for before the page finishes building.

The problem is if I try to click on an element before the page finally finishes building, that element moves and an incorrect click is the result.
The page seems to reformat on the last request and the page rebuilds for some info at the bottom.
This is after the page loads (mostly) in the default colors and then the entire page re-formats in the black / orange scheme.

It seems like the page could be coded in such a way that the browser doesn't do 15 page rebuilds, that would dramatically reduce network traffic and not cause the browser to display half built pages.

I'm afraid I don't recognize the phenomena that you describe. 'Page building'? When I move to, or open, a new page, it appears, complete, instantly. Or as near to instantly as makes no difference.

The 'coding' is not part of the Forum, but of the underlying software: vBulletin. Many forums use it, and they seem to perform perfectly well (as does this one, to me).

The speed of the internet link that is bringing the updates will greatly affect the display speed of those page builds... Those with fast internet connections can download and update in the blink of an eye...

However, those of us with slow links (or even slow computers) will clearly notice all the machinations that are occuring... It can be frustrating sometimes --- But it has been a long, long, long, long time since software engineers worried about load times - They expect you to upgrade to faster & faster products whenever they are released - even though your equipment does everything you need... (a lot like autos & motorcycle manufacturers)...

I don't know what kind of connection your using, but if it's not a high speed connectivity the only thing that might help is to try to use a lighter browser. If you're a Firefox user you can install an add-on like 'disconnect me'. This add-on prevents the loading of third party stuff and adds you don't want and speed up the page loading.
Here are some different browsers https://www.techradar.com/best/browser
