TC88A and higher compression timing
Hey guys, been a minute but ended up on another Sportster (05 883) and like always I can't leave anything alone.
Have a bunch of parts on the way, 04+ 1200 heads and 03+ Buell XB pistons, cylinders, and cams. Using a 0.030" head gasket so static compression should be around 10.1/2:1 and dynamic just under 9:1 (Buell XB "E" cams are identical to to SE551's) and all the necessary supporting mods
My question is on my last Sportster (04 1200) I used the 35* ignition map and it worked great. I'm getting a ton of different information on how to write a timing table for this engine. Some are saying 28* max, some say 33, and I pulled a stock XB12 map and it has over 40* at 6k+ dialed in (not sure I believe that)
Anyone have a general idea of where to start?

I have max timing set at 30. No pinging.

W/r/t static compression should be around 10.1/2:1 and dynamic just under 9:1
What's the intake closing point? Taken @ what duration?

Are the pistons XB9 or XB12?

You're golden on the pistons.
But the XB's "E" cams are not exactly the same as the SE "E" cams ... same specs, sure, but the marks and the timing cup slot are not the same. Much discussion on here about using them in XL's.

I know how to install them, I'm just worried about writing a timing curve for the TC88A
