I just reinstalled signals recently after I removed two weeks after buying the bike 6 years ago. It's safer and just smart to be able to signal at night and without your hands.

My tire keeps taking mine out from hitting the wiring. PO has it all buggered up under there. Talking to my local shop he tells me use hot glue and stick the wires to the upper radius on the fender. That's a pain in the butt. I need to remove the back jug exhaust now to drop the swingarm enough to get up in there, or take the wheel off. Its been hot and humid here and not making me feel like working on that thing. Plus my Vulcan is up on the lift now. Or perhaps its easier trying to run the wires in the Struts

Dutch law says this:
Two direction indicators on the front and two direction indicators on the rear of the motorcycle if the motorcycle was put into service after December 31, 1996. The light of the direction indicators of motorcycles put into service after 30 June 1967 must flash.
My bike is a '92, so legally I can take them off...but I won't.

I want visibility, have added lighting for that purpose.

When you ride with other people, some of them have a BAD habit of pointing at things in the road. This has become so common place, up here in the Plains States, you don't know if they are signalling or pointing at roadkill. Usually the persons behind you can see you swerve to miss roadkill or debri, so pointing at it makes no sense. Most of the time you can't see them signal or point, especially at higher speeds, unless they use turn signals. There is too much traffic, nowadays, not to have and USE turn signals. It's the only way to live.

I converted my rear turn signals to red stop, tail, and turn. In my opinion you can't have too much visibility.

I have LEDs in the side of my rear sissy bar mounts and in the front they are installed in the end of the handlebar grips. Load resistors are mounted under the frame and directly into the wires of the ECM box that controls the front and rear indicators.

Added extra brake and running lights. Currently, manual flash which gives me some options.
