they opened her up

crankshaft assembly and bearings gone
cams and bushings gone and sticked together... the brass bushings in all the four cams were rolling inside their nests and were glued to the cams... so you have to replace also the crankcase since rectify the bushing nest will no have a sufficient warranty for a proper running...
lifters gone (i had no asked them why)
oil pump gone
cilynders and pistons scuffed ant to be rectified

i'm sure they will not cover the entire expense (nearly 7k euros)

an entire new engine costs more and you even have to be submitted to renew the circulation card

in the next days i will know IF and HOW MUCH they will help me with the expenses
i hope at least half of the cost

otherways i will left the bike to them and will sell her like a wreck

P.S. if this would not be enough... well... this month an 883 Iron in Italy is passed from 10.9 k euros to 9.9k euros...

now i'm returning on the coast to my beach... hope this will help me to forget this Greek tragedy

Sorry to hear this - That's a lot of damage...

Did the oil pump fail & the rest seize up for lack of oil?

That's my bet, oil pump fail should ensure that the mo co picks up the tab.

Oil pump works but is a bit ruined and scratched by little shavings came from elsewhere...
their advice is to change that too in front of a so massive rebuilding...

my bet is that the crankpin slowly and increasingly broken... the rest are consequences... even about the four bushing seized with the cams (mechs said they were just seized since there wasn't a massive brass wearing)...

i myself had thought about oil starving... maybe something to do with the OEM oil cooler installed a year ago... that needed a rerouting of the oil tubes... as for the manual...

then it can't be...
since until the last minutes before i went to the dealer... temps were good... the bike ran well...
also i never saw the oil light flashing...

anyway i think that since the bike was always serviced by them... and have a little more of 2 years old... the goodwill procedure would be fair to be accepted...

it doesn't seem so for the top brass of HD in Milan Italy
