Default 08 XL883C trailer wiring harness - who make one?

Hi,

I put a used Voyager kit on an 08 Sportster for my wife. The rig has two tail lights that uses a flat 4 wire trailer wire to connect to the bike. I looked on line and I don't see any adapters for sportster, anyone out there know where I can get one? I don't want to splice into the harness for this rig. I would post some pictures of the harness and rig but I cant post attachments.

Since most Sportster owner's manuals don't recommend towing a trailer, I don't think you're gonna find a plug and play wire harness for a Flat Four Connector. Kuryakyn makes 2 Universal harnesses that will work, specifically, for HD... manufacturer# 7675 and 7671. Hope this helps.

I have one of the Harbor Freight 40"x 48" trailers. It also uses the 4 flat connector. Like you, I could not find a plug-n-play harness, so i took the tail light apart & just put the wires from the plug into the connectors in the tail light. Works just fine. The trailer lights are all LED, so there's very little added load. The turn signals act funny the first time they are used, after plugging or unplugging the trailer, but the second time they're used, they work as they normally do. Didn't have to cut anything to do the install. Takes some thought, but it can be done & if you no longer need the wires, it's a simple matter to pull them out of the connectors. Only reason Harley doesn't recommend you pull a trailer with any of their bikes, is cause they have to cover their butt legally.

Thanks, I check it out the tail light option. I was kind of hoping that the other bikes, FL or FX harness connectors were similar. I would rather splice into or hack a trailer harness than the one on the bike.

I ordered one of these for $19.00, UNIVERSAL TRAILER TOWING CIRCUIT SAVER ISOLATOR CONVERTER MOTORCYCLE MARINE off of E-bay. The voyager wiring adapter from Voager was $75 + $15, I thought that was a little steep and it was not even an isolator circuit.
