Lucky NY residents...
If you are unfortunate enough to live in true blue New York state like I do, check this out this link:
https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/gov...xhaust-systems
"This legislation deters drivers from installing illegal vehicle equipment that results in dangerous noise levels that can contribute to hearing loss and increased emissions."
Umm, yeah, ok. I would like rest of you to turn off your radios, shut your barking dogs up, keep your loud mouths shut when you have been drinking beer and partying all day, stop doing outdoor home improvement projects with noisy saws and hammers, and for God's sake, stop maintaining your lawns with your annoying mowers, weed wackers, and leaf blowers because you are disturbing my peace. Oh yes... also remove the sirens from police cars, fire trucks and ambulances. They are very loud compared to any of my bikes or cages.
Anyway...
New York state already takes way more of my income than I care to mention. And I can see the State Troopers being weaponized to enforce this, and we have A LOT of State Troopers everywhere you go. I believe in "picking your battles". As much as I would love to be a rebel with this, I am not rich enough to pay fines up to $1000 each time I ride one of my bikes And it honestly doesn't bother me to run a quiet exhaust, sometimes I prefer to. So, I just ordered a couple used OEM mufflers from ebay for my Sporty. Fortunately I bought a used set of OEM mufflers for my Victory Vegas years ago while they were still available. My Triumph has the original peashooter mufflers still on it, so I am good there.
I have an old 1970 Ford Galaxie with side pipes on it, a 1957 Willys with exhaust stacks and a 1978 Yamaha XS500 with a modified exhaust that I will never ever find stock mufflers for.
With every day that passes, I think more and more about moving to a free state because I can't stand jackasses.

This has probably been being pushed for a while now but can probably thank all these little shit head kids that are installing chips in there cars and the aftermarket mufflers on there pos 4 cylinders to cause the muffler to backfire Everytime they let off the throttle.

Desantis said the majority of NY residents coming to FL are registered Republicans. Myself included.

If you don't want to go far from family and friends hop across the line to Pa. They don't seem to worry about it here, just pick a rural county that doesn't require pollution inspection, I can hear some guys coming up the road from 1/2 mile or more away.If you're retired they don't tax pension income at the state and county level either, lots of people from Md retire here to avoid their high income taxes.

Bay Ridge Advocates Keeping Everyone Safe (BRAKES) Founder, Maureen Landers said, "Modified exhaust systems serve no purpose other than to create fear, chaos and intimidation.
Good thing the do-gooders are keeping everyone safe
