This is what I use on my 2005 XL883 Standard. I'm 5'7" and I sit upright with mid-controls and the top of this compact detachable 14" high windshield from H-D is perfect for me -- maybe not for everyone. The top of it is at my chin level, so I have a very clear view over it. The wind at speeds up 65 mph goes over my head and not into my face. Above that, I have to duck a little to avoid the buffeting. Although I don't ride without it, I can remove it without tools in about 2 minutes for access during maintenance (clutch cable adjustment, etc.) and I can re-install it in the same time period. It's expensive but it is extremely durable. It came with the bike when I bought it from its previous owner and I am extremely fortunate because at the time, I would not have paid the high price for it. Knowing what I do now, I would definitely pay it. If this one ever dies, I'm getting another one just like it.

I've got a Dart Piranha windscreen. It's minimalist, it smooths the airflow, reduces turbulence, and looks like it belongs. I removed the HL Visor on my 1200C and modified the brackets so it sits just above HL rim.
I first bought the Dart Classic and it created turbulence on the Sportster, the Piranha smoothed the airflow.
I have the Classic on my R9T. On it the Piranha created turbulence and the Classic smooths it. Go figure.

I'm in the majority never use one, never will. Not on a sporty. My 05 came with one that was quickly removed and sold. No use for a bubble on my head either.

Rode with a screen for the second time in 40 years when I tested a Heritage Classic.Loved it as it took the pressure off my chest and arms. If I could find a way to take the pain from my fingers and £20k I'd be riding again
