Default Mounting VM38-9 to 42mm manifold '65 XLCH

Have a 42mm Branch manifold on '65 CH and need boot adaptor/reducer to use 38mm Mikuni to replace 42mm Mikuni round slides. Spigot carb mount.
Possibly trade for/buy a 38mm manifold?
Ideas to adapt the 38 to the 42 manifold aside from the above.TIA

I think you can use a press-on CV carb adapter on a VM38.

www.ebay.com/itm/Carb-Intake-Manifolds-Adapter-Flange-CV40MM-For-Harley-Sportster-XLC-883-1000

or make one if it does not fit

Would it not be more direct to use a different manifold, one for the 38mm carb?

Yes, with my solution you would use the stock manifold.

I do not think you will find an adapter to neck down a large manifold.

This is what you need...

For that price I’d jump at it.

And this air filter

www.ebay.com/itm/AIR-CLEANER-BRANCH-FLOWMETRICS-FOR-SHOVELHEAD-HARLEY-DAVIDSON/254179227534

actually that manifold does not look right, its on the long side.

This is the correct manifold

My ‘76 CH had a tach drive Morris Mag so I appreciated the longer manifold.
That Branch manifold is certainly the standard for the application.

Responses and suggestions very much appreciated. Picked up the 38mm adaptor noted above which is the the simplest solution.
Thanks to all.
