My first Harley was a retirement gift to myself. Bought a '97 883 Standard from the HD Dealer in Izmir, Turkey. Rode there for 5 years before returning to the states. All my parts, tires and everything I ordered from H&M cycles in Dover, Ohio. Orders of $300 plus were free shipping (snail type) the FEDEX stuff was little more. Just was much cheaper that way. I think H&M is called Adventure HD now. They still ship though and that's where I go for parts if I'm able to wait. Just really great customer service ethic from these folks.

Default importing stuff

Guys, i'm in the USA several times a year and i buy all my stuff there and post it back to myself.

Biggest drama is getting them to accept a foreign credit card, some will some wont you just have to shop around. Paypal is a good alternative.

If you can keep the customs value to under $900 Aust it goes straight thru the postal system otherwise you are up for GST on the value.

All mail now goes by air so there is no cheap mail but it is not too expensive.

Regards
Terry
