Gunner, According to the formula Donny Peterson uses, your HP should be around 93+ HP @ 5500 RPM's.

Is that with a carb or EFI? Because that's 2-5hp right there. I've never dyno tuned either.

FI or carb isn't figured into the formula. RPM divided by 5252 times ft.lbs. of torque.

So what you're saying is 5500rpm ÷ 5242 = 1.0472 X 80ft.lbs. = 83.777hp

The chart I penciled in is approximate as I was going by memory and only had the peak numbers wrote down.
Maybe the torque was 81 at 5500 which would put the HP more like 85 at 5500 and the 86+ came slightly later.
But your 93hp at 5500 would be more like 90ft.lbs.

Yea, think I’m gonna bite the bullet and see what the rush’s will do. It currently pulls hard down low but the dies offs up top (as seen on dyno sheet, thanks for posting!). If I could keep the torque down low but get better top end with the rush, I think I’ll be happy. At least till I get bored and want to make it a monster

I thought I saw 89.6 or something on your dyno chart. (post#59)
5500/5252 x 80ft.lbs = 83.7
It's still awesome!

And don’t get me wrong, the new setup is way fun and gobs more that the previous stage 1 only. The bobcat IMO looks and sounds amazing and is one of the nicest built exhausts I’ve owned be it motorcycle or car. I just can’t leave anything alone and am always curious what another combo would do so I feel the rush’s are worth a try for a good comparison....at the expense of dyno time.

60Gunner, my apologies if I hijacked your thread but i appreciate you bouncing ideas around.

Hey, no problem. You didn't hijack anything.

Toejam, my max torque is more around 4500 and looking at my scribbling it's actually 88.7. Its on its way back down by 5500 and somewhere around 80 or 81. Max HP was right around there at 86.8 so probably more like 81. Yeah I'm happy with the results. It not the peak HP numbers but more the power earlier that I was interested in and that's what I got with my max being at 5500rpm.

You don't seem to be alone. With the HSR Mikuni the AFR's you're seeing on the dyno chart are all main jet which the exception of when the throttle is first opened. The accelerator pump is supposed to cover that if it's tuned correctly...

IF you were running the OE CV carb the needle would enter into the mix as while the throttle blade is fully open at the start of the run the slide is opening (slowly) during the run so you start on the needle and transition to the main as the slide (finally) fully opens.
