A few minor questions as I get set to load a custom map. First off, 05 1200 bike...1386 on the vss setting from what I've read in old threads on the subject correct? Where is this value entered?
Next ?...slope dial is disabled correct? What should the initial advance be set at and does this alter the values in the custom map? Like set at 1 it advances the timing 1° from the custom map values?
And finally, Rocketman sent me some maps and from what I've seen Scarecrow looks to be a really good map for a 1250 build with cams. Is there any other in contention I should consider? I did install the program to create maps but I've had my fill lately of mapping with the SE Race Ignition Tuner. Rico is the man and I'll join the Jester Mafia.

Ok, I found where to edit the vss and other parameters which brings up 2 more questions. Cranking revs. I set this at 2. Is that good? And should an initial advance be set?

2 revs is good
no need to set the initial
custom maps defeat the slope
set the switches to 5 and 5

Good deal. Done. I see if it the cranking revs is set to 0 it will fire quicker but 2 will eliminate the problem with hot starts kicking back correct?

Well there's 2 waysvto look at it the way I see. Rear cylinder runs hotter. If you're pushing the advance in your map, you might want to retard it a degree or 2.
However it also runs richer so maybe advance it.
The stock maps on the SE Race Ignition Tuner do both. Higher rpms and upper map it was retarded a degree or 2. Lower Rpms and upper map advanced then retarded. At one point it was 5° different you look at the maps on the SERT sticky here you'll see what I mean.
However to have it one way or another for the whole map I don't know. I'd probably lean towards retarding a degree but...
