I liked the Alpine stars jackets the best but man they are expensive.
I ended up checking out the cash converters and was lucky enough to find a RJays jacket with armour for $160 Au
Its a great fit and real thick leather, weighs a bloody ton though.

You could check out Black Rose, they have a fairly comprehensive web site, and they are just down in Port Melbourne

Thanks for that. I've jotted their number down and will give 'em a call if my other plans fall through

I'm currently tryin' to find a shop in or around Melbourne who has a decent stock of RJAYS jackets. This is the one I really like...

I rode all over Melbourne today and couldn't find a shop that carries that model but I tried quite a few of the other Rjays jackets on and they are all too short. As soon as I sit down on a bike they ride up my back and leave the kidney area exposed. So it looks like Rjays are off the list, as are Alpine stars (also too short and WAAAY too expensive) and various other brand sport style jackets which are also too short.

Gunna hafta get Mars to make me what I want

Hey Gronk
I bought my Rjays a little too big so the kidneys are not exposed but the arms are a bit too long, but I plan on getting the arms shortened a tad.
I noticed though that the newner Rjays jackets aren't anything like this one I got 2nd hand.
It may have been made to measure.
Have you tried the Collings jackets they are sweet but exxy, not as bloody exxy as Alpine stars though, they are over the top!

I got hold of a local Rjays rep and asked him a bunch of questions about jacket lengths n stuff and he reckons the one I like is longer by a cuppla inches than the others that I've tried.

He has organised for one to be delivered to my local suzuki/yamaha shop with no obligation for me to buy it if its not right and the shop doesn't have to wear any of the costs and won't get stuck with it if I don't want it. It should arrive early next week.
