You're the one that thought it would be smart to bash Hammer cams as usual here(at least a half dozen different threads now) because you think I can't cruise at 2500 rpm just because I dont do it all day. You're the one obsessed with my cams because you didn't listen and made a poor choice. If I were you I'd quit before you get any further behind.

Did you not take your meds this morning?

If I wasn't happy with my cam choice I'd just change them.

Default break in oil

Would anyone recommend 15-40 as a break-in oil for the first 500 miles?

I use Shell Rotella T4 15w-40 for break-in. I'm about to do it again when I put on the 1275 top end. It gets Redline after there's good ring seal.

Severe fuel dilution is the result of the rings still seating and all the short rides I took in cold weather during January, February, and March. Despite the fuel dilution this oil held up extremely well, which is evidenced by the strong TBN, viscosity still a solid 40 wt, and relatively low wear metals (lots of break in wear still showing since this was the first oil change after the factory fill). Silicon signature is high due to HD's use of RTV to seal the cases rather than fiber gaskets. Flash point is so low due to the high fuel dilution.

Thanks for sharing that. I've wondered what the analysis of that oil is especially since that's the same mixture I run in mine.
