So just picked this 71 kicker and love it more so then the 79 cause that jad no title..not familiar w drum brakes at all bit do have the original manual so I'll be reading....but 72xlh I lost your number Big Ed and need to pay ya and want to hire ya for some side work on this bike...call me I lost tour number 732 618 3638.

Looks like a good deal. Did it come with a box of parts (brake stuff)? Don’t be too surprised when that rocker box mounted oil pressure gauge doesn’t show much pressure. I would consider a new rear chain, too, if you weren’t already...

On the Bonneville bike, the oil pressure at 185-90 was 10-15 lbs. Most people take the oil pressure gauge off after reading it a few times.

An oil pressure gauge is useless on an Ironhead. An Ironhead is largely splash lubricated, it is also over-oiled as the oil is used to carry away heat.

The oil light is all you need and the best indicator of correct oiling.

The minimalist Ironhead owner will just lift the oil tank cap to see if oil is returning.
Checking the temp of the oil filter or oil tank is also an indicator that oil is moving.
