If I had to buy one it would be the PowerVision but if someone gave me a TTS Mastertune I'd use it and be satisfied I had a good tuner for free.

The other downside is your choice of hardware in the base calibrations being limited to SE hardware. You can only get so close to your choice in cams for instance. This makes the tuning process that much harder and time consuming not having the exact IVO and IVC.

Here's a question tho. Can you tune a motor with the PV that already has a tune from say the SE Pro Super Tuner? Or would the stock tune need to uploaded to the ecm first?

If spark is too far advanced, it is difficult to get high enough octane to compensate.
I chased that 15 years ago due to an out of spec MAP sensor.
Best to focus on reasonable advance.

??? Start simple. If he has higher octane pump gas available why wouldn't he start by trying that? The octane recommendation in my OM is 91(R+M)/2, that's "Supreme" or "Premium" at the pump and usually the highest available octane. It's been quite a few years since I've been in Europe but if IIRC they also have different grade fuels at the pump so if it rattles you try higher octane 'til it doesn't. A stock bike should run on pump gas without pinging but you do have to run an appropriate grade fuel.

As I said Im totally newbie with that and I dont wanna spend more money than I need. The worst thing is that I am not really sure if it will help for 100%.

PV J1850 right now cost 429$ when TTS cost 445$ for interface + 40$ for cable. If both can help me then lower price stuff is more interesting for me.

@sportsterdoc
broken Map sensor would give any DTC on speedo? Mine is clear.

You are right. We have three classes of gas - "PB95"<"PB98"<"PB100". I made some research yesterday and PB95 is for sure min. RON 95 and MON 85, and PB98 max RON98 and MON 88. So PB95 have RON 95 and (R+M)/2=90 - slightly less than manual says. Im not sure if it can be reason but i will give a chance for PB98 for longer period of time. Thanks for this lesson about RON, MON and AKI

Correct, we have those three... 95 being the most used by all vehicles.... I think I mentioned before... do NOT run 95 on your Sportster... DO RUN 98.

And if it still pings.... then it is not the gas, it will be your advance mapping.
