Ask your physician to modify his evaluation to authorize 3 wheel motorcycles, the Kaw 3 wheel ? and the Polaris Slingshot. (Why not?)

(This despite the fact that no damage occurred and I was off the machine when it happened.)

Got a notice from the MOT for a doctor's note/evaluation. In short he has cleared me to drive my van, but I've had to downgrade my licence and now do not have a motorcycle endorsement.

I was pretty sure that would happen, so at least it was more or less on my own terms.

Thanks for all your kind comments by the way. It's been a little over a month now and I'm getting used to the idea. Life goes on.

Time for more puns and jokes though. Cheers!
So, it's perfectly legal and reasonable to them that you can now pass out driving a van that has the ability to mow down 50 people in one shot, but you can't risk your own safety by riding a bike. That's laughable at best, and beyond crazy at the worst.

I think that since you had already brought the bike to a stop and got off it before you passed out that you have a solid legal case against their idiotic restriction to your license.

I understand that you agree and think this is a good idea, but it still pisses me off that they would try to pull this crap on you.

I would keep the bike, and I would still ride it locally once in a while just for peace of mind. Screw them and their idiotic control freak attitude. You don't have to have a license to ride, just a bike and the will.

This whole thing just pisses me off, because I know we are all headed there.

From the guy who talks to empty chairs... "A man has got to know his own limitations". Not someone else, not the cop, and not the guy down the street. He may talk to empty chairs, but he had that right.

I wouldn't trust your licensing division to not revoke your regular driving license as an after thought. I'm not surprised they determined your condition affected your ability to drive, after all, if your lost your vision in an industrial accident, for example, whichever optometrist evaluated you would probably have to report you to the licensing division. Big Brother knows what is best for you. It's like what President Reagan said: "If someone came to my door and said I'm from the government and I'm here to help you" you should run the other way as fast as you can. Or something like that.

Paint your ride a different color every 6 months and keep riding.

I wouldn't let it stop me that's for sure. DOT that is. But I'm a rebel at heart so.
So much I could add here but I really don't care to even think about it. Not today.
Gunner out.

True that.................. I had a Class A CDL with all the hazardous endorsements. Got so I could not wear a prosthetic leg any more because of infections. Now they do make plenty of large Diesel trucks with automatic transmissions, but my company forced me to retire and the DOT pulled my Class A license. I still have the regular private vehicles license with motorcycle endorsement.
