I’ve heard that about larger displacement don’t need to be revved that hi to keep speed on interstate. Plus will be getting crank rebuilt and balanced. Thought about getting cases bored and going 88” or 90”.

But already have my custom pistons and head work. Would have do even more custom head work with bigger pistons in which would need newer pistons to match combustion chamber.

when hd removed the trap door, a lot of things like sportgear went to the wayside. the whole reason i will not buy a new sportster. totally insane to tear down a perfectly good running engine for tranny work and it better be done right the first time or you will be doing it again.

Was talking to a shop and they mentioned someone got a baker setup and actually did a 6 speed in that model year.

I’m still waiting to hear back from baker who the parts built from a 3rd party so can call the other company and have some one offs built.
