Now you Know it needs enough to take up all of the travel... in both directions... with some left over.. Variable by the length of the Shifter "lever" attached..
If yer talkin which stroke cylinder to purchase??? I can Measure the Shortest that worked for us!!!

how much tranny oil ? running a dry primary

Yep Banquet
now, Typical is a 1-1/2 bore by 3 inch stroke, the Cylinder..
We used a Smaller one... 1" Bore, by about a 2" stroke...
Paying particular attention to the shifting mechanism...
Remember, smaller displacement is Faster... larger displacement [bore anyway] is more powerful...I can Prove that set up properly, not much power is required...
Our 1" short stroke cylinder is capable down to about 60lbs pressure... reliably...
Remembering that untill full pressure is reached... no Kill Takes Place [slower shifts at higher Pressure]


Edit; Knowing Exactly how an air shifter works pays dividends... I used to hold "school" on this back in the day!!!
